We are a team of medically-trained professionals, led by entrepreneur, Certified Nurse Practitioner and former founder & CEO of Honor Health Network, Mike Lawler. We create, design, build and manage personalized living solutions for any individual wanting to stay in their own home while living with medical and health conditions.

Our team specializes in working on projects that involve medically-driven design for modernizing a commercial or residential space to accommodate an aging population and those people with disabilities or chronic conditions. MEET OUR FOUNDER,
Mike is the founder and leader of Medical Design Build of America. He has more than 20 years of experience as a real-world healthcare practitioner specializing in geriatrics and long-term care. Mike has vast experiential expertise in home care services for chronically ill, disabled, hospice and homebound individuals, as well as in many facets of post-acute care, home care delivery, and assisted living.
In addition to being a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master's of Science in Nursing, Mike holds a Graduate Certificate in Construction Management from Columbia University and is certified in Residential Design-Build from the renowned Yestermorrow Design-Build School.
Mike is devoted to reimagining the future of long-term care by leveraging a medical approach in redesigning facilities and homes to adapt to patients, meeting their needs and providing comfort and dignity as they progress through their illnesses. This passion drove Mike to launch Medical Design-Build of America. Mike maintains his board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and dedicates a portion of his time each week to providing care to nursing home patients in central Pennsylvania.

Aging in place redesigns and renovations can be confusing, so we developed our own unique formula for seamless home transformation. This four-phase process ensures peace of mind and a delightful building experience for you and your family.
Phase 1 begins when you contact MDBA to request an assessment. We will get to know you and our medically-trained team will evaluate your specific health situation and learn about your vision and concerns. Then our health professionals and construction team will collaborate to create a design to transform your living space so it revolves around you. We'll create an estimate and proposal for you, then fine-tune the design until you're totally happy. For this phase, you'll be working with Mike and his team -- they are the best in the business!
HEALTH & LIVING SPACE ASSESSMENT
Phase 2 begins after we have created your design and you are completely satisfied and approve of the proposal. This is where the action really starts! Our Preconstruction Manager will coach you through the selection process so you can choose your products, paint colors and any other details for your project. Once this is complete, we will develop your project schedule and our staff will coach you on what to expect during your project.
Phase 3 is the actual renovation (we call it "transformation") process. You'll meet Brent, our Production Director, and his amazing team of carpenters and trade partners. Brent and his team will keep you updated on progress and scheduling and will ensure safety and quality control during the entire construction and transformation process. Brent will take care of scheduling inspections, coordinating deliveries and all the moving pieces that go along with successful delivery of a construction project.
Phase 4 is our favorite part - this is where we get to unveil your project and see your smile as we visit your new space with you. Regardless of the project's size or scope, this final walk through, or "ribbon cutting" never gets old.
